**Go enter my contest/giveaway soon! You've got nine days left, peeps! It ends September 10th!**

Today we'll be taking a look at a lovely polish that I have silently desired for a long time.

Essie Little Brown Dress

I know this must have been hard for Meg to get me because she hates dark colors. But she sacrificed her own preferences for mine!

1 coat. One coat! OMG! And what a gorgeous coat it is. I'm pretty sure you don't need a color breakdown from me on this one, it's just an awesome dark-chocolate brown. I have only one other brown polish, Revlon Hot For Chocolate. If you're not scared easily, you can see my pathetic swatch of it here. I really should reswatch stuff...

The formula was lovely, as Essie formulas always are.

Also, since I'm trying to do more nail art, I decided to start with something simple.

I did dots with OPI Alpine Snow and Essie Coat Azure. I'm all out of Alpine Snow. I'm pretty sure it's the only polish (excluding base coat and top coat) that I've actually finished. Anybody know a good one-coat white? I don't really wanna spring for the OPI again.

Wait, what's that? You want to know how I managed to get my dots so perfect? Did I expertly use a fancy-schmancy dotting tool?

Why, no! THIS is what I used:

Now THAT'S fancy.

I'm not really sure where I heard this tip from, but it is easy-peasy: just shove a pin into a pencil eraser and voila! Insta-dotting tool. You best not be leavin' pins and pencils up in here, I'll go all Hannibal Lector on you and DOT YOUR FACE OFF.

OMG that movie is scary.

  1. I like your dotted French! Very cool.
I recently found Sinful Colors Snow Me White is an awesome white for dirt cheap. Oh and while you're in walgreens, they have the WnW party of five glitter and that line on sale for 99cents! I stocked up for my frankening bin!

  3. I've been wanting little brown dress too! Now I think I need to have it.
Maybe you could try konad special polish in white? It's probably only a couple of bucks cheaper than OPI but it works in one coat pretty well.

  8. Great base shade - among my favs - good choice of colors on your dots. And WOW - I now have my own dotting tool - thanks! I never heard of this one - you said it - easy-peasy and they don't get much cheaper than this for creating a tool! Loving in!

@Krissy: Hmm. I don't know. I can't buy it in stores, though, so shipping costs would be urghhh!

@Nailderella: Aww. Well I hope you have the time to make a franken at some point! It's a lot of fun.

@beachgal: No problem! I wish I knew who to credit this to, though.

  12. That is an awesome tip. And Little Brown Dress itself doesn't really appeal to me, but I really like it with the dots you did!
