Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a lovely holiday season. :) Today I've got some pics of a very beautiful polish that I'm lucky to have, Lynnderella Snow Angel.
How gorgeous! This was a while ago, but I'm pretty sure this is one coat of Snow Angel over OPI I Vant To Be A-Lone Star. This is one of the most unique polishes I own! How did you guys fare over Christmas, if you celebrate? I got a few polishes myself that I can't wait to show you! I hope you're all well, I kind of feel like I'm talking to myself. I have to apologize for my extended unexplained absence, and I really don't have a good reason to justify it. Things got a little busy and stressful for a while, and after life had settled down I had been gone for so long that I felt guilty and I wasn't sure if I would be welcome back, so I just stayed away. But I'm hoping you'll all forgive me and I can get back into the swing of this whole blogging thing. :)
Laura
All right everyone! How are we today? Well, I hope?
For my first nail post since returning from my hiatus, I've decided to show you guys a stunner.
The lovely
Polish Amor gifted me a decant of
Lynnderella's Snow Angel, and I decided now was the perfect time to show it off to you guys!
I started with OPI I Vant to Be A-Lone Star as the base.
Then I applied two dreamy coats of Snow Angel on top and proceeded to take far too many pictures.
Wow, my nails are longer than I remembered! I've cut them down much shorter now. Anyway, as you can see, Snow Angel is completely gorgeous and I just love-love-LOOOVE it! It's so delicate and it makes visions of sugarplum fairies dance in my head. Many thanks to Iris for graciously sharing this beauty with me!
Okay guys, what have I missed in nail world? As you can probably tell I haven't really been keeping up with things, I need to get back into commenting on all of your wonderful blogs and being in the know! Fill me in, peeps!
Helloooo everyone! How are you on this fine April the 14th? Well, I hope?
Today I am going to share with you Zoya Kristen topped with the versatile Essie As Gold As It Gets.
Ah, so lovely. This is two coats of Kristen followed by one of As Gold As It Gets. I love the subtle, antiqued effect, it's so delicate and pretty.
All right everyone, two things I want to ask about.
1. Would you care sharing the links to your favorite indie polish brands? I've been itching to get some lately, and Ninja Polish is always sold out. Stuff like NerdLacquer and Lacquerized, and there's so many others I can't think of right now.
2. I have gotten a freaking bajillion votes for the contest and the vast majority are for one name. By vast majority I mean no one else is even remotely close, which gives me slight pause. I'm going to send a verification email to all of the addresses that were entered in the voting just to check things out since I want this to be as fair as possible. Just a heads up in the interest of full disclosure! The winner will be announced tomorrow.
May you all have a lovely weekend!
So today I have some delicious glittery goodness for you all. A little late for a holiday polish, perhaps, but c'est la vie. I do what I want.
das rite you tell em Louis
(I apologize in advance for the deluge of gifs featuring One Direction that will no doubt soon appear on my blog)
This is one coat of Color Club Jingle Jangle over one of the old Urban Outfitters polishes that they don't sell anymore. It's a nice blurple. Jingle Jangle is soooo pretty, it's fully of tiny blue and lavender hexes and it's absolutely gorgeous! I really love the combination, they're so pretty together. Blurple is just a really great color. It's my second favorite, right after turquoise.
So whaddup dawgs this whole contest thing is highly overrated and I do not recommend it lol. I always forget something... I should have asked you for your emails when voting because yeah when I get three responses that are exactly identical right in a row... it looks a little suspicious aight. I mean really... three people just happened to choose the exact same names within 30 seconds of each other.
EXCEPT NOT AT ALL
SO DON'T BE PULLIN THOSE FANCY TRICKS YO I'M ONTO YOU LIKE WHITE ON RICE.
Ugh but seriously guys that's like ridiculously obnoxious and not smooth at all. So let's just be honest here and everything will be full of sunshine and rainbows and we can all have a gigantic picnic and eat cake and live happily ever after.
ALL RIGHT I'M DONE NOW sorry when I get on a roll like this it's kind of hard to stop sometimes.
Look! A wild NAIL ART appeared!
It's not very good but gosh darn it is nail art and THAT IS HOW YOU DO IT SON.
I started with Zoya Kristen and shyeah. I really like how the diamonds turned out but I'm not sure how I feel about "Lucy" on top of it. Not exactly how I envisioned it, but oh well.
Also.... I did some One Direction nail art. *cringe, waits for tomatoes to be thrown* I knooow I'm sorry but it had to be done. I was just wondering... do you guys even want to see it? I know they are probably not most of you guys' cup of tea so I don't want to offend anyone with an aversion to British boy bands. But it's nail art! So I figured you might appreciate it.
Okay, anyway. Today's beauty is Zoya Marina.
This is 2 coats. Marina is a really pretty dusty grey-blue metallic shimmer. The formula was great and she was super gorgeous and lovely and mmmmm.
All right... bit of a rant here... I don't know if you guys watch The Voice but I am right now and is it just me or were the Shields brothers robbed?? Ugh Cee Lo I am so mad at you right now. That girl Erin has absolutely no talent, she just does her weird voice thing and it's terrible. What a waste. I applaud you, Shields brothers, for you did indeed punch me in the face with rock n' roll. *slow clap*
And today I owe another beautiful woman a massive thank-you for being so fantastic. A Polished Touch was kind enough to hunt Revlon Whimsical and Naughty (apparently a Perplex lookalike, who was in turn a dupe for Chanel Paradoxal) for me when I commented on how beautiful Whimsical was and how disappointed I was that I couldn't find it. And as a surprise, she threw in Joe Fresh Twilight! OMG! Holy freaking amazing, Batman!
So another THANK YOU I LOVE YOU YOU'RE THE BEST EVER to A Polished Touch for being snazztastic.
And here is this beauty in all her glory: Revlon Whimsical.
I did one... or maybe two... ohgod I don't rememberrr... let's say 1.5 coats of Whimsical over Butter London Lady Muck, which is a beautiful grey-blue shimmer.
Whimsical is seriously the cutest thing ever. It reminds me of cotton candy and lollipops and marshmallows and fluffy little kittens. And the name! Oh goodness, the name is adorable. I love everything about this polish. It is gloriously beautiful and I plan to try it over many different bases just for giggles.
Oh, and then I mattified it... yeah, I kinda wish I hadn't 'cause I liked it better shiny, looking back at it now in pictures. Whenever I mattify things, I always ending up liking the shiny version better in the end. *sigh*
So, what do you think? And while we're at it, let's hear it for RAOKs!
A Polished Touch and
Polish Amor made my world
a little a LOT brighter. :)
So let's share the warm fuzzies. What's the nicest thing someone's done for you?
This is extremely over due and I owe a humongous thank you to Iris from Polish Amor because a while back she held a surprise giveaway and I won!!! She sent me a lovely note and a bunch of cool stuff: NK Aquamarine (featured today), an OPI Nevermore mini, Finger Paints Add and Abstract, a decant of Lynnderella Snow Angel (!!!), some pretty butterfly stickers and lots of cool nail art stuff that I haven't used yet because I can't find my tweezers and it'd be pretty impossible to get them all placed right without tweezers.
Anywho, so I would like to say one massive THANK YOU VERY MUCH BECAUSE YOU ARE THE CAT'S PAJAMAS to Iris.
Today we begin with NK Aquamarine.
2 coats. Because it was pale blue, I was afraid it would be streaky or chalky, but I was pleased to find it was surprisingly opaque! It was a little bit thick but look how lovely it is! I've never heard of this brand before but I'm glad to have this baby in my stash.
Now, I finally bit the bullet and bought China Glaze Oxidized Aqua because Sally's is so desperate to clear out all the China Glaze crack that it was all clearanced for like $1.99 or something ridiculous like that. I'm surprised they still have any left, actually. Obviously people are not as addicted to crack as China Glaze had hoped (heh heh. See what I did there?)
Oh... and I totally forgot, cause you can barely even see it in these humongous pictures, I added a layer of Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Disco Ball over the top too.
I really like Oxidized Aqua, it cracked really nicely and looked great with Aquamarine.
I really need to get through every other awesome thing Iris sent me! I also owe thanks to another lovely lady, she knows who she is. Her turn comes tomorrow!
