Zoya Valerie

**I know this is getting old but once again, I must remind you to take a look at my 101 Follower Contest/Giveaway. I know everyone likes to win stuff so come on! It would make me really happy if you guys tried your hand at frankening! It gets you an extra entry in the giveaway, too!

Also, please make sure that when you enter the giveaway you tell me your Google Friend Connect name, not your actual name (unless of course they're the same thing). Because I've gotten some entries with names that are not on the GFC list and I would really not like to have to disqualify anyone because I can't verify that you're following.

So if you think you entered the wrong name, shoot me an email at lauram999@sbcglobal.net and tell me what I should change it to. On with the post!**
Today's lacquer is fabulous. I have to take a moment to wax poetic about how much I love Zoya.

First of all, Zoya is a cool name. Second, they have a unique, eye-pleasing bottle shape. But the most important thing is that they make tons of unique, beautiful colors that I've never seen dupes for.
Today we'll be meeting Valerie.

Isn't she gooorgeous? *swoon* This is one good-lord-can-a-color-really-pack-this-much-punch-check-my-pulse-because-I-think-I-may-have-gone-to-heaven FABULOUS coat. Valerie has a dark, eggplant purple base but is packed with tons of gold and maroon/magenta microglitter. She is glowy and radiant and ever-so-stylish. She is perfect.

Also, the wonderful Fingers sent me a beautiful extra, Barielle Hidden Hideaway (redundant much?). I was struck by the similarity between it and the lovely Valerie, so I whipped up a comparison for you guys. I did this on my right hand, so I apologize for the awkward posing because for some reason I cannot get my right hand to hold the bottle properly.

Sun. From L to R: Valerie (one coat), HH (two coats), Valerie, HH

They look slightly much more similar than this in the sunlight. Both glowy and purple and fabulous.
Shade. Valerie, HH, Valerie, HH
Lamplight. Valerie, HH, Valerie, HH. This position is much more comfortable!

However, in the shade and any other lighting that is not blinding sunlight, the differences are clear. Hidden Hideaway is most definitely darker than Valerie. I actually think they have the same base color, but Valerie is absolutely packed with microglitter while Hidden Hideaway has a lesser amount of finer shimmer. Hidden Hideaway is like Valerie's older goth cousin. Both are gorgeous, and different enough for me to own and love each of them.
Tell me what you think! BTdubbs, I am LOVING how many comments I am getting. It feels like yesterday where I would get maybe two comments on a post. Way to represent, homedawgs!

OPI I Eat Maine-ly Lobster

**Reminder again! If you haven't already, you need to enter my contest/giveaway! Or else... something... bad... will happen... yeah.**

Also guys, I've been pretty busy lately so if I haven't been commenting on your blog as much lately that's why. I'm hoping I will have things working smoothly by the end of the week and then I will start commenting regularly again!

Here is the second polish from my swap with the great Queen Fingers.

2 coats. This shade is gawww-juss. It looked super pink in the bottle when I got it, then outside it looked reddish pink, kind of a melon color, and then sometimes it was coral, even verging on orangey! Sooo pretty.  The shimmer is beauteous in the bottle, delicate and golden, scattered all over as if a fabulous shimmer fairy blessed it with gorgeousness. The shimmer is only *really* visible in the sunlight, and it's invisible inside, but it sometimes comes out subtly under room lamps and in other various lighting situations.

It's beautiful even without the shimmer, though. Such a great color. The formula was amazing, too. I have nothing bad to say about this whatsoever! It's fantastic.

Maybe I shouldn't tell Roadhouse Blues how I feel about my newfound Lobster love... I wouldn't want to hurt its feelings.

OPI Roadhouse Blues

**Hey guys. I created a tab for the contest/giveaway since I thought it would be easier to get to. I have updated it with some questions that people had and that is where I will be making any further changes. Here it is, or you could just, you know, click it since it's right there.**

One of the greatest things about blogging is making friends with people who you would never otherwise know. Once you have befriended them, you can get stuff from them. It's a great relationship.

One of the friends I have made while blogging is Fingers. She (as every sane person would) loved my Breakfast Club frankens (which you can see herehereherehere, and here if you're curious).

In fact, she loved them A LOT. And it reminded me of a situation I was in a while back with another blogger friend of mine, Leslie. She made an awesome franken seen here, and I thought it was the coolest thing since funny YouTube cat videos. I loved it so much that I commented twice on it saying just how much I love it, and then she did something that completely blinded me with awesomeness: She offered to send it to me! I did a post on it here, and then I sent her back stuff which she talked about here.

Good lord how many links can I put in this post! Anyway, I was just explaining how I felt that the karmic forces of the universe were providing me with the opportunity to pass the happiness on to someone the same way Leslie had to me! So I offered to send Fingers decants of my Breakfast Club frankens and a little something special which you should see on her blog soon.

Anyway! We're finally getting to the end of the story. She politely insisted on sending something in return, and you can't just tell people to shove their kindness up their butt so I agreed and voila! A beautiful swap was born. You shall be seeing what she got me over the next few days. Let's start with the one that I put on ASAP.

OPI Roadhouse Blues. Isn't it cool how the print on the front makes a shadow on the polish?

Ohmygosh it's SO PRETTY. This is two coats, almost opaque in one. It was weird that I found myself craving this one because I am definitely more of a bright polish girl, but I knew I had to have this. I just feel like we BELONG together, you know? I have to say, I am shocked that this deep, inky, glossy indigo creme is giving my sparkly babies a run for their money, but what's a gal to do?

Sugarpie, honeybunch, you know that I looove you! (I love you) I can't help myself, I want you and nobody else! (dun dun dun nuh)

Anyway. The formula is creamy and smooth as silk. The color is pigmented and rich. There is nothing wrong. I see no flaws. I'm in LOVE I tell you.

I can only hope Roadhouse Blues feels the same way...

(Love me, love me) Say that you love me! (Fool me, fool me!) Go on and fool me!
(Love me, love me) Pretend that you love me! (Need me, need me) Just say that you need me!

My heart will go on...
