L'oreal Safari Chic + Zoya Apple

Hi guys! Once again sorry for disappearing for a while, I have just had an absolutely massive workload lately but I've got a spare minute so I thought I'd show you what's on my nails right now. They've actually been unpolished for the past week (gasp!) but I got around to painting them last night! It's two coats of L'oreal Safari Chic and one coat of Zoya Apple. I also got some super cool henna yesterday so it looks twice as awesome! I hope you're all doing well and hopefully I'll get around to posting again soon! :)

China Glaze Smoke and Ashes + Luxe and Lush

All righty, here is our second-to-last installment of the Hunger Games series! At least everything I got from it. Today's mani begins with Smoke and Ashes, which represents district 12.

Wow I'm really feeling like I should do a reswatch of this because this looks like poop compared to the actual thing. This is two coats of Smoke and Ashes, which is a black polish with loads of blue/green/gold? shimmer. It's very nice and I like it a lot.

Now I also picked up Luxe and Lush so I decided to try it on top of Smoke and Ashes.

Luxe and Lush is the type of flakie topcoat that has the broken mirror sort of look, the edges are more jagged and sharp looking and it doesn't lie as flat as most flakies. The formula wasn't the best and it was kind of hard to get the distribution right but with a little adjustment all was well. I'd like to try this one over a wider variety of colors as well, I'm sure there are many interesting possibilities out there! Have you guys tried any cool combos with Luxe and Lush? Have any suggestions for me? I'm all ears!

China Glaze Riveting

Oookay so Blogger has a completely new layout from my side of things and it is a whole different animal, so if things look a little strange I must ask your forgiveness! I'll hopefully get the hang of it soon. It looks cool... just... weird.

Me too, Niall, me too. But we'll get through it.

But anyway, today I have yet another Hunger Games beauty to share with you! This is China Glaze Riveting and it's for district.... 3. I think? I should google this stuff.

This is two coats. Riveting is a bright, vivid orange jelly with lots of gold shimmer. It's extremely eye-catching and vivacious, I really like it! I used to really hate orange polish because it makes me look like a zombie, and you should all know by now that I have a legitimate, crippling fear of zombies and therefore I avoided orange polish like last season's Ugg boots.

But, I have been slowly coming around and easing myself into orange polish with beauties like this one. Riveting is absolutely wonderful and doesn't make me look like a zombie at all.

The formula was absolutely dreamy. I give Riveting a resounding A+!

Louis and Harry think so too. What do YOU think?

China Glaze Fast Track

So today I have my second selection from the China Glaze Hunger Games collection, Fast Track.

This is 2 coats. Fast Track is a slightly pinky brown nude with a heavy dusting of gold shimmer. I don't remember which district this is for... whoops.

The formula was very nice, no problems to report, she didn't make any trouble!

Sorry if I'm a little subdued, I'm pretty tired today. I had a big lunch with two of my besties and then let Ed Sheeran sing me to sleep... had a pretty nice nap. :) How was your day?

Zoya Kristen + Essie As Gold As It Gets

Helloooo everyone! How are you on this fine April the 14th? Well, I hope?

Today I am going to share with you Zoya Kristen topped with the versatile Essie As Gold As It Gets.

Ah, so lovely. This is two coats of Kristen followed by one of As Gold As It Gets. I love the subtle, antiqued effect, it's so delicate and pretty.

All right everyone, two things I want to ask about.

1. Would you care sharing the links to your favorite indie polish brands? I've been itching to get some lately, and Ninja Polish is always sold out. Stuff like NerdLacquer and Lacquerized, and there's so many others I can't think of right now.

2. I have gotten a freaking bajillion votes for the contest and the vast majority are for one name. By vast majority I mean no one else is even remotely close, which gives me slight pause. I'm going to send a verification email to all of the addresses that were entered in the voting just to check things out since I want this to be as fair as possible. Just a heads up in the interest of full disclosure! The winner will be announced tomorrow.

May you all have a lovely weekend!

China Glaze Stone Cold

Wow... did I just miss a million days in a row? It feels like I've been gone forever. I did not mean to just up and disappear like that! I just got completely sucked into chaos, sorry!

PLEASE FORGIVE ME

Why do I have so many Louis gifs.... no matter.

Moving swiftly onwards! Today I will be showing you (somewhat belatedly) one of the polishes I picked up from the China Glaze Hunger Games collection, Stone Cold.

This is 2 coats. Stone Cold is a black polish with a whole bunch of lovely silver microglitter. It is really very pretty and the shimmer seems to break into a bunch of different colors in bright sun when you look closely.

The formula was absolutely dreamy, so lovely!

It dries matte, so I naturally had to see how it looked shiny.

OMG is it just me or is it even awesomer? So pretty! Matte is cool and all, but I just can't stand to see beautiful shimmer go to waste like this! It is so amazing in the sun, even better than it looks in pictures.

Have you guys seen the Hunger Games? I went to the midnight premiere. It was pretty good, I thought, but not as amazing as I was hoping for it to be. Elizabeth Banks and Stanley Tucci were definitely my favorites acting-wise, they were both wonderful. Jennifer Lawrence was good too, I just personally don't like Katniss very much. But from what I've seen of her in interviews I want to be her best friend, ugh she's so awesome.

Oh, and also, this literally made me LOL:

Yeah. That pretty much sums it up.

Revlon Naughty

Today I have another polish that A Polished Touch  sent to me because she's awesome. This is Revlon Naughty.

2 coats. Naughty is a lovely dusty, mushroomy, purple-tinged taupe with some great purple shimmer. It is supposedly a re-release of Revlon Perplex, which is the infamous dupe of Chanel Paradoxal.

Naughty has a wonderful formula, it's nice and smooth and gorgeous and the color is really wonderful. I love it, I have absolutely nothing like it! The way the shimmer peeks out behind the smoky base... ahh! Beautiful!

Many thanks to A Polished Touch, she's a wonderful lady!

Oh and also, because I feel like these posts are a lot more interesting when I ramble for a bit rather than just talking about polish, you should all listen to Ed Sheeran because he's super duper fantastic. I'm really coming to think that British musicians are just so much better than American ones that we have no hope of catching up.

And he just looks so squishy and adorable and fluffy. I mean come on. THERE IS NOTHING NOT TO LIKE.

OPI Grape Set Match/Servin' Up Sparkle duo

So today I'll show you this Serena by OPI duo that you've probably seen a million times, but you haven't seen it from me yet so pretend it's brand new and exciting.

This is Grape Set Match by itself at two coats. It's really pretty, very sparkly and has lots of chunky shimmer that's absolutely gorgeous.

And then with Servin' Up Sparkle it kind of just becomes fantastic. It's so sparkly it's kind of ridiculous. I love how well they go together. Servin' Up Sparkle is like the blingtastic Ryan to Grape Set Match's shimmery Allie. The glittery Jack to the grape Rose. A sparkly Romeo to a purple Juliet. You get the point.

Oh guys, I have to ask you one thing. Would you be terribly offended if I offered gently used polish as the giveaway prize? I have a bunch of polishes that I've used once or twice and will probably never use again and I see no reason why they shouldn't have a lovely home like the rest of my beauties that I use more often. I know lots of people swap with used polish, but I just want to make sure you guys are okay with it. To be clear, these would only be polishes I've used once or twice, not something that's halfway gone. Let me know how you feel!
