I'm Just a Girl...

Welcome to the revamped Thursday Post, which will be appearing randomly whenever I have time. I'll still be tagging these Thursday Post so that they're all organized together, though.

Just a Girl - No Doubt. I love No Doubt so much. Gwen Stefani is awesome and so is this song.

Somebody get this in my mouth right now.

Starry night photos are officially awesome.
Why can't I live in a house with an awesome staircase? Or any stairs at all, for that matter.

This is so freaking entertaining. I could spend hours just messing around with them!

Can I please live here?

I just burst from the adorableness.

Things like this really make me want to be a photographer!

Happy Wednesday!

The Thursday Post

All right, here is a belated Thursday Post for all you beautiful people!

Obsessions - Marina and the Diamonds. I love her, she's got such a unique voice, it's almost operatic, and the beat of her songs is so easy to get into. This is one of my favorite songs by her. I'm bad at describing music, just listen to it!

I'd love to see a beauty blogger review their own homemade beauty products. It would be interesting to see how they stack up against synthetic products.

I think this is such a cool idea. It's really interesting to see the progression of time like that. Here's part two.

I NEED this. That's so awesome! It's like holo flakies!

How freaking delicious do these look? White chocolate + Oreos + Cheez-Its? Yes please.

First world problems. #SoTrue

And what would a Thursday Post be without some stunning landscapes? Here are my favorites:

Happy Sunday!

The Thursday Post

100 Years - Five for Fighting. I was really tempted to do another country song, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea so I refrained. Not to mention this song is full of win.

It's too late for Christmas, but maybe you can still find a use for these freaking awesome science-y gifts. I'm sure Larie will find this stuff as cool as I do.

Aww, are these adorable or what?

Okay, some things in life are just awesome. Here you go. Please tell me that's not insanely creative. I think my favorite is the French fry spider and the ketchup packet cockroach, although of course I love the nail polish one.

I'm sure some of you can sympathize: I am addicted to lip balm. So I was quite pleased when I saw this post. I've always wanted to try the Korres Lip Butters, maybe now I will!

Of course, what would the Thursday Post be without awesome pictures? Voila. They're all amazingly beautiful, but I think the second one is my favorite.

Three words: homemade peppermint patties.

To make up for the lack of posts the past two days, I have some nail wheel spam for you.

Hits Lambada, Hits Artemis (this is WAAAAY more holo in real life), Ozotic 505 (all over black)

Nails Inc. Trafalgar Square (by itself on the left, over black on the right), unnamed green foil snowman polish in the middle.

a-england Perceval and Iseult

Butter London Tart With a Heart (over black on the far left, alone in the middle) and The Black Knight

Deborah Lippmann Across the Universe, Don't Tell Mama, Naked

Remember those frankens I showed you forever ago? Well I made some more. (I couldn't find any of the WnW bottles I had sitting around, so I finally gave up looking and bought some more) Please enlargen these to view them in their full glory.

(I need to thin up the pink one so the holo glitter shows through more)

The white and taupe one aren't done, they need a little something more.

The whole family (so far)

If you're wondering what this collection is for, I'll give you a hint. Each polish is inspired by a character from a cancelled TV show. There are going to be 10 polishes in all. If you can guess what it is then I'll... well I'll think you're awesome. And I might come up with a prize, if you're lucky.

Happy Thursday!

The Thursday Post

Beautiful Wreck - Shawn Mullins. I seem to have quickly become inexplicably obsessed with country music. Not just any country music, though: I don't want Carrie Underwood and Blake Shelton and Shania Twain, I mean those unknown yee-haw country guys who sing about trucks and fishing. And this country song, which is a little more sophisticated.

Are you one of the people who believes that the world is going to end in 365 days? Here is an article that might make you feel better. Or maybe worse, if you're into the whole apocalypse thing.

Oh my GOD yes. Girl scout cookies are awesome. Samoas are indeed the best kind. Coconut + caramel + chocolate? Ugh. And in bark form!?!?! I DIE.

How about some holiday-themed Lynnderella polish?

I really want to do this but I probably wouldn't be able to deal with how ridiculously time-consuming it would be.

Have you ever wondered about the 100 most beautiful words in the English language? Well there they are. My personal favorite (lachrymose) isn't on there, but I am fond of effervescent, lagniappe, and panacea.

I think I could actually do this! My friend Anna makes shirts and stuff using paint, but that's too time-consuming for me.

These are some of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen. Just to give you an idea of why you should look:

Happy Thursday! If you've seen any links you'd like to share, we'd love to see them!

Belated Thursday Post

I feel like I haven't posted in a million years! Sorry guys, I have a backlog of pictures the size of Alaska but I haven't had any time to upload them or write the posts. I promise I will try to get as much done this weekend as possible so that I can finally get it all cleared out. I've still got to post all those Shades of the Season polishes that I got in a giant tube at CVS! Remember that? It was a looong time ago... Anywho, here's the Thursday Post to tide you over.

We Are Young - fun. featuring Janelle Monae. Yes, I heard this on Glee, but this is the original version. I can't decide which I like better! It's a really awesome song. It's one of those anything-is-possible-let's-go-act-crazy songs.

This Chanel collection reminds me of candy. I want to eat it all up! I wish they would make a July one, though. It should be a beautiful ruby red.

OMG. Please tell me you almost licked your screen too when you saw this. Just... yum.

How adorable is this? I love that it's not in traditional Christmas colors, which makes it more interesting. I'll definitely try to replicate it!

I really wish I lived in a place where I could wake up to this.

*sigh* Curse my geographic location!

Seen anything interesting you'd like to share? Leave it in the comments, I'd love to know! Have a good weekend, everyone. :)

The Thursday Post

Mansard Roof - Vampire Weekend. Although I am generally not a fan of hipster-things, I do love me some Vampire Weekend. Although I like their debut album much more than Contra, it has a different feel. I really like the bouncy, eclectic feel of it.

You may have noticed that it is snowing on my blog. That's right, SNOWING. I figured we could use a little holiday spirit up in here, so following this handy tutorial courtesy of Ice Queen's Nail Parlour, I added some lovely snowflakes. We rarely see snow down south, so I'm probably going to leave this up till around the end of February!

This is pretty awesome, and I really wish I had a use for homemade stamps! I should get into scrapbooking.

I think I need these right now. Yum!

Okay guys, I'm a little short on links this go-round. Not sure what happened! I will proceed to jack some of Larie's links.

I really am not into this look. It just looks... weird? I'm not sure I see the point or the fashion merit of partially-painted, smudged nails. Do you?

My favorite comic strip is Pearls Before Swine, and it appears that Larie is also a fan! This one may amuse you all because of the subject matter.

The Thursday Post

Roxanne - The Police. Sometimes you just need a good classic rock song, and this is it.

I love these photo galleries. There are a lot of great photos in there, but since some of you guys said it'd be easier if I just put the pictures in the post I decided to include my favorite:

Isn't that the most gorgeous thing you've ever seen? It's a ladybug covered in dew.

I am so so so excited for the shimmer part of OPI's Holland collection. They all look stunning. Then again, Fashion Polish makes everything look stunning.

This looks ridiculously awesome and also ridiculously time-consuming.

Don't see it? That's a person. Painted like a bookshelf. Mind. Blown.

Also, I went to the zoo this yesterday! Here are some pictures I took:

This meerkat was just lying on his side like this. So cute!

Isn't that a cool looking bird? Its eyes freak me out.

This monkey was SO TINY. SO CUTE.

Aww da widdle baby ewephant!

This fox was so still it looked like a statue. Look at him all curled up!

The cheetah was hard to get a picture of since it just kept pacing. Poor cheetah, I bet it wanted to run. :(

The lioness was quite majestic, she looks so regal.

This is the only decent picture I got of the panther, it was pacing like the cheetah.

I don't know what this is but I can't decide if it's hideous or adorable.

I kid you not, this monkey is green. One of the strangest monkeys I've ever seen!

LOOK. AT. HIS. TAIL. I couldn't even get it all in one shot! This monkey was so adorable, he would barely sit still and kept bothering the other monkey it was with.

Is this not the most beautiful duck you've ever seen? He reminds me of origami.

And that's all for today's Thursday Post! Don't forget to check out Larie's!

The Thursday Post

So my gal Larie over at Eye Heart It (clever name, eh?) does a post every Thursday that she has wittily entitled "The Thursday Post." It's basically a compilation of a bunch of random things she's seen that catch her attention and that she chooses to share with us. I love these posts, and so I was going to test them out for myself and see if you guys like them. So tell me if you like this, guys! If you do, I'll keep it up.

Kiss With a Fist (by Florence and the Machine) - Okay, so I probably shouldn't like a song about domestic violence as much as I like this, but I can't help it. I love it.

I actually first saw this recipe on one of Larie's Thursday Posts, and recently got off my bum long enough to make it myself. OMG guys, it's delicious. So I didn't have any limes on hands and I just used lemon juice, but whatever. I'm sure it would be five times as good if I had actually had limes, and seeing as it was already amazeballs, I'm pretty sure my brain would explode.

I need this dress, kthx.

I don't know about you guys, but I find personality tests really cool. Here's a link if you care to find out about yourself. I got ENFJ on two of them and ENTJ on the other two. ENFJ is "The Giver," ENTJ is "The Executive." I personally think I'm more ENFJ, although I'm right smack dab in the middle of extroverted/introverted, so I could just as easily be an INFJ/INTJ. Reading through all the different blurbs about the traits of those types, I see myself in all of them. According to the people who run that site, you can only be one type, but I find that hard to believe. *iz skeptical*

So this is our latest offering from Zoya. I can't decide if it looks refreshing and sweet or depressingly boring.

I find this site way more hilarious than I probably should.

So what do you think? Maybe next week I'll include an adorable pet picture like Larie does. (Dennison is a cutie patootie).
