L'oreal Safari Chic + Zoya Apple

Hi guys! Once again sorry for disappearing for a while, I have just had an absolutely massive workload lately but I've got a spare minute so I thought I'd show you what's on my nails right now. They've actually been unpolished for the past week (gasp!) but I got around to painting them last night! It's two coats of L'oreal Safari Chic and one coat of Zoya Apple. I also got some super cool henna yesterday so it looks twice as awesome! I hope you're all doing well and hopefully I'll get around to posting again soon! :)

Zoya Kristen + Essie As Gold As It Gets

Helloooo everyone! How are you on this fine April the 14th? Well, I hope?

Today I am going to share with you Zoya Kristen topped with the versatile Essie As Gold As It Gets.

Ah, so lovely. This is two coats of Kristen followed by one of As Gold As It Gets. I love the subtle, antiqued effect, it's so delicate and pretty.

All right everyone, two things I want to ask about.

1. Would you care sharing the links to your favorite indie polish brands? I've been itching to get some lately, and Ninja Polish is always sold out. Stuff like NerdLacquer and Lacquerized, and there's so many others I can't think of right now.

2. I have gotten a freaking bajillion votes for the contest and the vast majority are for one name. By vast majority I mean no one else is even remotely close, which gives me slight pause. I'm going to send a verification email to all of the addresses that were entered in the voting just to check things out since I want this to be as fair as possible. Just a heads up in the interest of full disclosure! The winner will be announced tomorrow.

May you all have a lovely weekend!

Lucy in the Sky With Diamonds

Look! A wild NAIL ART appeared!

It's not very good but gosh darn it is nail art and THAT IS HOW YOU DO IT SON.

I started with Zoya Kristen and shyeah. I really like how the diamonds turned out but I'm not sure how I feel about "Lucy" on top of it. Not exactly how I envisioned it, but oh well.

Also.... I did some One Direction nail art. *cringe, waits for tomatoes to be thrown* I knooow I'm sorry but it had to be done. I was just wondering... do you guys even want to see it? I know they are probably not most of you guys' cup of tea so I don't want to offend anyone with an aversion to British boy bands. But it's nail art! So I figured you might appreciate it.

Zoya Marina

Okay, anyway. Today's beauty is Zoya Marina.

This is 2 coats. Marina is a really pretty dusty grey-blue metallic shimmer. The formula was great and she was super gorgeous and lovely and mmmmm.

All right... bit of a rant here... I don't know if you guys watch The Voice but I am right now and is it just me or were the Shields brothers robbed?? Ugh Cee Lo I am so mad at you right now. That girl Erin has absolutely no talent, she just does her weird voice thing and it's terrible. What a waste. I applaud you, Shields brothers, for you did indeed punch me in the face with rock n' roll. *slow clap*

Zoya Kristen + Marina stamping

So today we're going to take a gander at a lovely double blue, double Zoya mani. It begins with Zoya Kristen.

Kristen is a beautiful soft, dove grey blue. She's so pretty and flattering, I love how elegant she is.

Then I stamped using the houndstooth plate with Zoya Marina.

It's annoying because I wasn't able to get the plate lined up just right. The Konad patterns are juuuuust barely big enough for my nails so if I don't get it aligned exactly right then there's weird blank spaces. Annoying, but I didn't feel like fixing it.

Okay so I'm hoping I'll get the giveaway up sometime next week, I still need to go through and find some polish that is worthy of you guys' loving homes and and then make a super epic franken. I'm so exciiiiited! Also, have any of you guys done a Rafflecopter giveaway? Is it easy to do? Because I see lots of people doing that now and I'm not sure if it's better than the normal Google spreadsheet giveaway. Any opinions are valued!

Jelly sammich #1

So do you remember when I asked you guys to vote on jelly sandwiches? Well I finally have the first one I did. There was a tie between #5 and #3, so this is #3.

Jelly sandwich #5 is Zoya Valerie + Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear Twinkle Twinkle + OPI Houston We Have a Purple.

It's super pretty and sparkly, Valerie just shines through and the gold glitter goes with it perfectly. I can't wait to do all the other jelly sandwiches, they're so much fun!

Okay I'm sorry I've been a pathetic blogger lately, I was just really busy but now since it's the holidays I'll have more free time and I will definitely be posting more! I really want to get those Shades of the Season swatches up except I promised that I would come up with hilarious and witty names for them which I haven't found the time to do yet, so as soon as I satisfy myself with my cleverness I will slap those up.

In other news, I'm going to the Texans game tomorrow! They're playing the Carolina Panthers and I am hoping it will be a great game. We've got a good thing going and I hope it keeps up! I need to work out my nails ASAP, I think I'm just going to do a funky French. Ughhh I love my Texans so much! I can't wait! I will report back to you tomorrow, hopefully I'll be happy!

Color Club Sugar Plum Yum over Zoya Phoebe

Ack I'm sorry I didn't post the last two days, I really meant to, but we've got family in town for Thanksgiving so I just didn't get around to it. But now I've got the other scented Color Club glitter to show you!

Color Club Sugar Plum Yum

I started with two coats of Zoya Phoebe (which is totally gorgeous, btw).

Then I added one coat of Sugar Plum Yum and a generous helping of topcoat.

I managed to catch some evening sun, FINALLY. The shimmer is freaking unbelievable in these next pictures. (on a scale of celery to unicorn, it's about at fireflies.)

As you can see, I got this one to lie much flatter and more evenly distributed. I'm not sure if this is because Sugar Plum Yum has a better formula than Very Merry Berry or if I had just gotten used to it and had a better feel for it.

Sugar Plum Yum is a combination of small green glitter, and larger purple glitter. I love the way it looks over Phoebe, but after a while all I could think of was:

I don't even know why, as I never much cared for Barney when I was a kid. But gosh, that's rather terrifying. He doesn't even look like a dinosaur. I don't know why kids find him endearing, as he kind of looks like he wants to eat my face off. On a scale of celery to unicorn, Barney is... Well, he's not very high up there.

Seriously, though, it's pretty awesome of you can get past the Barney-ness. I did remember to smell this one before putting on topcoat. I'm not exactly sure what a sugarplum is, much less what it smells like, but it just smelled generally sweet and not bothersome.

I would totally recommend these polishes if you love glitter, scented polish, Color Club, happiness, general awesomeness, or your mother. Seriously guys, these are awesome and blingy and gorgeous. They take a little practice to get used to the application, but once you get the hang of it they just take patience.

Do you associate any polish with big, friendly, purple dinosaurs? Or is that just me?
