Guest Post - Eye Heart It

Today's guest post is courtesy of a lovely lady by the name of Larie who runs a fabulous blog called Eye Heart It. She is really freaking awesome and does really amazing posts! I know you'll enjoy this so here she is!
 
 
"Hi everyone! I'm Larie. *blush* When Laura asked me to do a guest post, I may or may not have panicked a little, because while I do post the occasional NOTD or nail polish review...I suck at them. My nails aren't pretty and I don't have any nail art skillzzzzz; usually all I do is slap on two coats of a pretty polish and go "Oooooooooh." Then I wear it until I scratch up my nails (easy, I'm a climber) and repeat the whole process again.

After a bit of flailing (and a mini-consultation with Laura) I decided I could take one of Laura's pretty NOTDs and use it to inspire an eye look. Which is what I did. I'm sorry if you came here to a nail blog expecting...a nail post. Please don't throw tomatoes at me. *puppy eyes* I had permission!!!!!

So I picked this one:


I like blue eye shadow, and I know Laura is a teal fiend, so it was a good choice. Here's the look!

I think it might be wearable if you weren't wearing blue (that might be a bit much). But paired with a peachy brown blush and some nude lipstick, you'd be ready for a night on the town! If you did such things. I, being boring, do not. I just walk the dog and scare the neighbors. Anyhoo.

Yay! Larie is really amazing, she is the cutest thing and I enjoy her blog so much! She is where I discovered Thursday Posts and she also does Foodie Fridays that make me drool over my keyboard. I highly recommend FOLLOWING HER!

I decided to use one of my Nfu Oh flakies to celebrate it! I picked Nfu Oh 54 wich is a transparent blue base polish packed with gorgeous green and blue shifting flakies. It looks so mermaid-like! Guest Post - Polish Amor

:( so bare with me :-P I love to read Laura’s post they always make me laugh, I specifically like that she post as many pictures as I do..... the more the better I say! I was very excited when Laura asked me to do a guest post for her, hope you guys like it!!!
 
 
Final Mani:

I first started with two layers of Zoya Savita, which turns out to be an amazing matte polish!


Then I did some subtle stamping using Glitter Gal Silver 3D Holo and Konad m83, this really didn't turn out as I had pictured it in my head...


Sooooo I added more stamps from the same plate Konad m83 using ManGlaze Mayonnaise which happens to be another awesome matte polish...



It looked pretty cool matted, but I KNOW how much Laura LOVES Shimmmmmmaaaaaaaaa So I added a top coat and OMG the Glitter Gal really shines thru :) This looked 1000000 times better in person, but you get the idea....

Well happy day after Valentine's Day, all! I find myself in the peppiest of moods, golly gee the world is a beautiful place. This kind of sums up how I'm feeling right now:


Moving on! Another lady that makes me happy is Tyne from lovebeangirl. She's wonderful and is always so sweet and has lovely nails! And today she is going to entertain all you lucky readers.

"Hello everyone, my name is Tyne, So nice to meet all of Laura's lovely followers. I am so excited an honored to do a guest post for Laura she is seriously the sweetest and her blog is one that I check almost daily. So onto the nails I have for you today, I had seen a tutorial on nailside (http://nailside.blogspot.com/2012/01/tutorial-freehand-cloud-design.html) that she did so well that it looked do-able even for me. I have seen a lot of other bloggers already try this, and have great success. So I too wanted to give it a go. I think it came out pretty good and Im pretty happy with it.

Thank you Tyne! I've seen this one before too, it's really pretty and I think Tyne did a great job of copying it, I love the color choice! The pink shimmer peeking out between the blue and purple is so cute.

Guest Post - A Polished Touch

Today's guest post is from a wonderful lady who I am glad to call my blogging friend! She was even awesome enough to send me some really great polishes when I couldn't find them myself (thank-you post hopefully forthcoming, I also have another lovely lady who is doing a guest post on Friday to thank!)

Anyway, I'll get off my soapbox and hand the mic over to A Polished Touch.


"To start I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to Laura for having me on her blog today. This is my first guest post and I'm so happy that it's for Laura! *insert a multitude of compliments and lovin's here* ;)
 
I asked if it would be all right if I continued my Blue Monday mani's here and she quickly agreed (being a blue polish lover herself), so for those who wear blue on Monday and for those who carry a special love for blue in their hearts, this is for you.





Polishes used:
Base - OPI What's With The Cattitude (3 coats)
Silver - Wet'n'Wild Silvivor (sponged 2 coats)
Glitter - Revlon Sparkle (1 coat layered over Silvivor)

I took a foundation sponge and cut up little pieces, used my tweezers to hold it and then sponged the silver onto the tip of the nail, aiming for a more opaque look at the very tip and lessening the amount of silver as I went down the nail. I took Revlon Sparkle and lightly applied it on top of Silvivor and brought it down just passed where it ended to elongate the gradient effect.

I don't usually do too many mani's that have any sort of detailing on them but lately I have been practising and thought this would be a fun one to share. This "sponged"/gradient style mani is very easy to do and makes it look like you've got a creative flair. (Even when you might not, ha.)

Yay, blue! I tried the Blue Monday thing a grand total of once and then promptly forgot all about it because I am terrible at remembering to do things. She has a lovely blog and I thank her for this wonderful post!

Guest Post - Gnomes and Nail Polish

Today's guest blogger is a wonderful lady by the name of Samantha who works over at Gnomes and Nail Polish. She's relatively green to the blogging world, but I think she shows a lot of promise and she is wildly entertaining! Without further ado, I will turn the reins over to Samantha.


"When Laura asked me to be a guest blogger for her I was elated. I felt like someone had baked an entire pecan pie just for me and handed me a fork. Laura’s blog was one of the first I really started stalking, I mean following. It wasn’t until recently that I decided to emerge from the shadows and join the whole blogger universe, and Laura was one of the first to welcome me. I have been officially yapping about my own nail polish shenanigans on the internet for a few months now, and I am really loving everything about it. I especially get excited when I see a new dot on my little visitor map. My husband will be in the living room watching whatever the hell he watches and I will just bust in there like the Kool-Aid Man and start screeching about how, “OMG, BABY!!!! I got a visitor from Africa today!!!!!” (runs around in circles in front of the TV giggling like a lunatic).

Well, I figured for my first guest blogger appearance I needed to do something special. I remember emailing Laura to ask her if she thought my blog looked legit or not, and she had mentioned she loved this post. I got this particular Missha polish because I figured they were dupes, so I knew this would be perfect for my guest post.

Missha HGR01 is a stunning green/turquoise metallic duochrome with a delightful rose scent. It is a Korean polish I ordered on eBay for a pretty reasonable price.

Artificial Light, I love this pic.

Very pretty! While I do not use eyeshadow on my eyes I do like using it for frankening, and this one looks like it would make a really beautiful polish! It reminds me of something the White Witch in Narnia would wear. Vintage certainly has me pegged, I do love blue!

I hope you guys enjoyed this guest post; it's nice to have a change of pace once in a while. :) (Hey, look at that semicolon. Yeah, that's right. I used a semicolon. BAMF.)

"A big THANKS to Laura for letting me do this, I am thrilled to be here. I usually do layering combinations on my blog, but this nail polish was amazing by itself. I have always liked Japanese brands, but this is the first time I've tried Tins. Why is it so special? Well if you look at the glitter it's not the common round or hex, it's actually square! I love the way this shines, and how it's not gritty at all. This shade of pink is one of my favorites, and I know Laura loves glitter, so that's why I chose this one.

How very sparkly and wonderful! I love how the glitter looks in the last picture in the bottle, ugh I just want to throw myself off a cliff because it's SO BEAUTIFUL.
