The Crowning Glory of My Collection

It's my birthday today, and to mark such a glorious occasion I decided to treat myself, and all of you, to something very, very special.

Oh... oh my. Could it be...?

*gasp*

Yes, my lovelies. It is. It is indeed.

My very first Chanel, Peridot. I'm not even sure how to pronounce it. At the Chanel counter in Nieman Marcus, I said, "I'd like to buy.. Pear-ih... dot?" and then I proceeded to count out $11.06 in change because I only had $16 in bills. Yeah, it was totally worth it. Here's a bunch of bottle pr0n:

Amazing, right? I think Chanel puts magic in their polishes. That's the only possible way the magic that is Peridot could be explained. It is heavenly. The main color is a warm gold with a slight olive cast, but on the edges you can see bluish green, and when you tilt your nails at the right angle the blue green takes over the entire nail. It's stunning.

I used two coats, and the formula was flawless. So easy to control. It was the perfect consistency, and it went exactly where I wanted it to go. I've heard about Chanels chipping or having bad formulas or brushes, but my experience was quite lovely. In the sunlight, Peridot absolutely glows. It lights up like it has a million threads of gold running through it.

I cannot explain to you how beautiful this polish is. It was worth every cent.

I know this post has been long enough with all the pictures, but I have a few more in honor of my birthday haul.

A mini set of OPI's Nice Stems collection. I would have grabbed a full size bottle of I Lily Love You because it's absolutely gorgeous, but (unsurprisingly) Ulta was out of those, so I'll just have to stalk them until they restock.

Saints nail polish! My lovely mother got these for me along with a Brees jersey. :) The black isn't actually pure black, it's got silver shimmer, which I love.

OMG! a englands! I LOVE the bottle. My mom and aunt collaborated to get me these since I've been mooning over them. I got Lady of the Lake and Tristam, of course. ;)
Also my first Butter London, Victoriana. I debated between this and Lady Muck but in the end the teal won, as always.

Phew! I'll wrap it up now, but I'd also like to thank my now 50 followers! I love and appreciate every last one of you. And hey! We're halfway to having some sort of contest/giveaway, so maybe do some PR for me? *nudge nudge, wink* Just kidding, but I'm itching to do a contest so I can't wait to reach 100! It's been a wonderful three months of blogging.

Is This What You Mint?

One of the polishes I bought on vacation was an unnamed City Colors. At first glance I thought it was mint green, but it's actually got a touch of blue.

Uh... I... can't tell. Oops.

I did three coats and you can see that it's still a tad VNL-y, but I didn't want to do a fourth. The formula was unremarkable, neither here nor there really. I'm still not sure what color this is. I guess I'd have to settle on mint green, but it does have that drop of blue that makes it look seafoamy. It's nice but not stunning. It does have a little bit of shimmer, which is lovely. I love me some shimmah!

It kind of reminds me of Essie Turquoise & Caicos, except sheerer and with shimmer.

Not the best polish I've ever used, but I think it was cheap. ;)

Oh, and by the way... I'm going to blow your brains out tomorrow. Seriously. It will be amazing.

Wet n' Wild is a Force of Love

My first experience with Wet n' Wild was less than great. It was even less than good. Less than okay. Less than meh. Less than bad. It was pretty darn awful. But I saw these colors, and they were too pretty to resist, so I figured that everyone/thing deserves a second chance.

First up we have Wet n' Wild Night Prowl.

Guess what... formula was FINE! OMG! It certainly wasn't deserving of any unnecessary accolades, but it got the job done. I was so happy because this means I can buy cheap nail polish! \o/

Two coats. I really liked this. It is *kinda* like Deborah Lippmann Bad Romance minus the big glitter, but not really. I don't think this would really kill any lemmings, but it's a nice polish nonetheless!

I also picked up Wet n' Wild Blue Moon

What I like about this polish is that even though it is dark, you can still clearly tell that it's blue and not black. And in the sun, just... ZOMG. There's this greenish shimmer and it's so fantasmal. Just. Love.

Oh! The dark blue provided a perfect base for me to try out my supposed Lippmann ATU dupe... Icing Force of Love.


Eeeek.... So much LOOOVE! AMAZEBALLS. Here are Scrangie's pics of ATU and BR. As you can see, Night Prowl is nowhere close to BR. But I think that Force of Love would be really close to ATU if you started with a jelly blue, say Revlon Royal, did one coat of Force of Love, another coat of Royal or any dark blue jelly, and then finished up with Force of Love. That would give it the squishy, layered-glitter look that ATU has.

This is definitely good enough to satisfy my lemming! Happy day!
