Day 14: Flowers

**If you haven't already, vote in my As Seen in Theatres contest!

Also, about the giveaway: for those of you that entered, I forgot to ask for your email addresses to notify whoever wins. So you'll all need to check this coming Saturday's post to see the winner, because you'll have 48 hours to respond or I'll pick someone else. So make sure you check my blog on Saturday, or if you want to, email me with your GFC name so that I have your address. I'll post this on every post until then so that hopefully everyone gets the heads up.

Finally, some of you who entered the franken contest didn't sign up for the giveaway, but I assume you'd all want to be entered anyway. If you don't, let me know. That is all.**

So I'd seen a few manicures that mimic chinaware. Like this one from Nailin' It. How pretty is that!? And I decided that today would be a good day to try it. I started with Sally Hansen Insta Dri Whirlwind White.

Then, using Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Co-Bolt Blue, I stamped on the flower design from plate BM16.

Looks pretty nice now, eh? I think a slightly lighter blue would have been good, and the design is effing HARD to transfer (I have to "massage" [I'm borrowing the term from a MUAer] the polish into the crevices of the design to get it all in there and then go over it with the scraper gently but not TOO gently. I'm think I should use an old ID card or something like lots of people do, so I don't scratch up the plates.)

Anyway! So I was pretty happy with how it looked but this voice in my head was like

and I couldn't exactly say no to that, could I.

So I added yellow dots in the center of the flowers with Sinful Colors Unicorn.

Voila.

I kind of wish I hadn't, though. I don't know why but for some reason they really bothered me. I liked it a lot more as just a plain china mani.

But here's some more pics of it, anyway. These are all under the lamp, cause... well I think I got lazy and forgot to take pictures anywhere else. Oops!

If this mani were a china bowl, I would smash it.

  1. noice. I actually like the dots. I bet it would bother you less if the dots were flat or something, because that always irks me.

  7. :O I think this is super pretty, but I do agree that without the yellow centres it has a cute traditional look, but it's pretty regardless. :D
If this was wallpaper I'd smother my walls in it, though. xD
