Orly Fowl Play

**All right guys! There is no good excuse if you haven't entered my contest/giveaway yet. I've got 4 contest entries and 16 giveaway entries so far. Pick up the pace, ladies! I know you can do it!**

If you are on MUA, you probably know that the nail world was freaking out about Orly Fowl Play because it is a supposed dupe for the much loved, discontinued OPI Merry Midnight. I don't have Merry Midnight so I figured I would go out and get me some Fowl Play!

I forgot the official bottle shot but I have this! Click on it... seriously... it's gorgeous.

3 coats. You should go click on these pictures to view the flakies and shimmer in further detail. It is a very complex polish. The base is a purple jelly, there is small silver glitter, slightly larger blue glitter, and oranges flakies that sometimes flash green. It's really gorgeous in the bottle, and while it is undoubtedly pretty on the nail, it can be a little much because of all the stuff it has going on. I think maybe if I had topcoated it it would have been smoother and nicer.

So... I like it, but I don't love it. What about you?

  1. I know you want people to enter the contest, and I wish I could. :( But frankening (is that even a verb?) when you don't know what you're doing wastes a lot of nail polish and I can't afford that. :( I hope you get some more entries, though, because I love seeing what other people come up with!

  4. @Rebecca: It's not that hard! I actually have a sort of franken tutorial that I will be posting tomorrow, maybe that'll help.

@beauxs mom: I found it at Ulta. I've heard that Sally's isn't getting the Birds of a Feather collex :(. Can't wait to see your franken!

@Suiling: I am looking forward to seeing your franken! I think there's tons of places you can order online

  5. I want this. I don't think I'll be able to get it unless I can find it online somewhere but I do want it very much. It reminds me of a plummy purple version of SOPI 212.

  6. wa~ I'm in love with this polish now!! It seems to be really close to OPI Merry Midnight!

BTW, I've heard so many times ppl talking about MUA, but what group is it? Can I be part of it?
(I must sound like a completely crazy girl for asking this...I know it supposed to be super popular....!)

  7. @Meeka: It's very pretty! I don't have 212 so I'm not sure how it compares, but I like Fowl Play!

@Nailderella: You certainly can! Here: www.makeupalley.com is the URL, you just have to sign up. :) And then you can talk with the rest of us on the nail board! It's a lot of fun.

  8. I think this is awful! Way too much going on and it's full of my dreaded glitter! YUCK!

  9. I don't (yet) follow MUA - I need more time before I get addicted to it. But the first thing I thought when I saw this photo was Merry Midnight - and I am thrilled so say the least. I hardly want to ever use my Merry Midnight out of fear it will be no more - I have to get going to find who has this one - for me with lack of shopping around in rural area - probably going to need to depend on Beauty.com for this line to show up here - or just keep doing major looks on web searches. Sooooo excited.

  12. I also like but don't love it. Something about it is just...not quite me? I don't know. I need to find a polish with flakies, though...I really love the effect.

  13. I like it, but you are right, it is busy! But it is still really pretty!

Umm if I have time to make a franken I will probably be submitting like AT the deadline (I am sure other people will do that too)

I mean why do today what you can do tomorrow? (-Mark Twain)
