Scherer Chameleon Calypso

First of all, I've made two new tabs for you guys to check out. One is Lemmings Galore, where you can see every polish I want just in case you feel like getting me a little gift. Haha, just kidding, but I think it's interesting to see what polishes people are after, and browsing other people's wishlists has introduced me to a lot of beautiful polishes.

I also created a BlogRoll as a way to share other blogs with people that see my blog.

(start rant)

Right now, I've only included followers that have left a comment somewhere on my blog, because they've made an effort to reach out to me and I think that warrants a place on the list. If you want to be on my BlogRoll, all I ask is that you be a follower of my blog. I'm honestly not requiring that because I want more followers, I'm doing it because I don't think it's fair to ask to be on someone's blogroll without even doing the courtesy of following them in return. If you are not on my BlogRoll and would like to be, I will be more than happy to include you if you leave a comment on the BlogRoll page. I believe in karma and the golden rule, so I hope you understand.

(end rant)

Today I have for you a polish that I bought while I was out of town. I found buttloads of brands at Rite Aid that I can't get here, because as far as I know there are no Rite Aids in Houston, which sucks, because I loved Rite Aid. One of those brands was Scherer, and they appear to exclusively make duochromes. The one I got was Calypso.

And I forgot the bottle shot. Sorrehhh.

Look at the duochrooome

I don't think there was any sun when I took pics, oops.

Like most duochromes, Calypso performs best when layered over black. I *think* this is only one coat but it maaay have been two. I started with one coat on my thumb, and realized that wasn't good enough. Here's how different it looked:

Sorry for the chip

It had a nice formula but it was a little chippy. When I first applied it, the duochrome didn't show up at all, it was just the pink/purple color, but as it dried the green/blue became apparent. I really like this. It kind of reminds me of something. Rainbow trout, maybe? Yeah, like fish scales. It's very iridescent, I think. I would recommend getting this if you have a Rite Aid. Think of me when you do!

Have you tried any Chameleons?

  1. I haven't tried any chameleons, but I want to, I just haven't find a perfect one for me yet. :D
    But this polish looks awesome!

  2. I haven't tried any of these either; we do have Rite Aids and Walgreens, but they're not as common here as the local drugstore chain (Bartell Drugs), so I rarely go into them. I'll have to take a look! This one's really cool!

  3. Looks great!

Scherer is based not too far from where I'm sitting right now (in Michigan), plus we have a lot of Rite Aids, so yep, I've tried them. :) They also make Petites, Petites Color Fever, and CQ (all available at at least some Rite Aids).

  4. @Sandra: It is! I really like it.

@Larie: Do it! Rite Aid is like drugstore Mecca.

@KarenD: I saw those but none of them really "spoke" to me. I get a little overwhelmed when I'm surrounded by so much polish!

  5. This one reminds me Orly - Space Cadet except a frost version instead of glitters! Very pretty :D I wonder if I can find it in Canada somewhere...

Also, I recently did a Would You Rather - Beauty Edition TAG and I would like to tag you :)

  7. @YK: Thank you! I'll do it... soon... lol. I've been doing a lot of tagging things lately, but I'll try to do it!

@Sonia: Yesss it kind of is. Except the Chanel one has diamond dust in it. :P

  8. I love these, but must admit I hardly ever actually wear them. I use them to franken with A LOT.
