Breakfast Club Frankens: The Princess

So before I do anything else, I want to call to your attention to the fact that I now have 70 followers! Yaaaay! Every time that follower number creeps up I feel great! Have I ever told you guys you are all supafly? Well, you are.

P.S. That also means we are 31 followers away from a contest/giveaway. So maybe you could help me out? I would do one sooner but I am a little short on cashola for prizes right now so waiting till 101 is a better option. Anywho, if you have any tips for politely growing a blog (i.e. no link h00ring, because nobody likes a link h00r) then I am your grasshopper and I have much to learn. If you want to be my sensei or something like that. That would be cool. I would appreciate being sensei-d.

Right. So.

I am very happy to share with you a collection of frankens that I recently made in honor of one of my favorite movies, The Breakfast Club. I'm going to show them to you in the order I made them, starting with The Princess.

The Princess is (hopefully) obviously inspired by Claire, Molly Ringwald's character.

And her pink shirt and princessy, prom queen ways.

The Princess is a medium pink with hidden gold shimmer and some intermittent glitter. I encourage you to click on the pictures in order to see my baby in its full glory.

And here she is on my nails. Continue to biggerize the pictures or I will send angry ogres with pitchforks after you.

This is the only half-decent shot I could get inside.

Lamp. I know this isn't usually my favorite place to photograph but she turned up surprisingly well here.

Here's the full effect, just so you get the idea.

The formula is a little thick and a tiny bit lumpy, but I added one generous coat of OPI topcoat and then a thinner coat of Out the Door on top just to speed things along, and it was smooth and shiny after that.

This is probably my least favorite out of the collection. It looks like a soft pink creme from a distance, you have to look up close to see the glitter. I added as much clear as I could to try to help the glitter show through, but I ran out of bottle space.

I still like it overall and I think it's a good representation for Claire. Man... I love that movie.

Here's the recipe if you so desire:

Yes, I was too lazy to type it out again.

Sorry I don't have the amounts for most of it, I wasn't keeping track, I just added as needed.

Just to keep you interested, here is the entire army:

And that's all you're getting for now. Tune in next time for the second installment!

  3. @Madeline: Thank you! I made this one first because her personality was just so pink, and it was obvious that the polish should be too haha.

    @Larie: Yay, thank you!

  5. Definitely see the idea and I like it! Loved the movie! Can't wait to see how the others look when worn. :)
    As far as followers..... I know to comment a lot on other ppls blogs can get you noticed more. Don't be afraid to find new blogs and comment. They are likely to follow & comment in exchange. You could ask other bloggers to put you on their blog roll which might help get you more traffic... but I'm already a good friend and you're on mine ;) Sadly that's all I got as far as suggestions.... but you are right in that nobody likes a link h00r!

  8. @Sonia: Yes you do have to see this movie! It's amaaaazing!

    @Leslie: Yes... I need to get in the habit of commenting more. I get in these "I'm gonna comment on eeeverything!" moods and then two days later I'm like "this is so haaaard" so I'll have to work on that lol.

    @Fingers: Aw thanks! I never tire of getting awards, so i won't stop you ;)

    @Sandra: Thank you so much!

Yay comments! Whenever you leave a comment, a triple rainbow happens.

**I don't like having to say this, but I must: Do not link drop! I don't care if you tell me you want to send me a million dollars, if you leave a link in your comment, I'm deleting it. I work hard for any and all traffic I get, and stealing it is a major no-no! Follow blogging etiquette, please.**
